The Ames Foundation serves as the catalyst for the identification and execution of projects that enhance quality of life and create a greater sense of community among citizens. In doing so, the organization also connects resources with projects in cooperation with public agencies, civic organizations, private entities and individuals. Since 1975, the Foundation has sought out, raised and managed funding for both large and small projects that enrich the lives of those who call Ames home. Examples include "Welcome to Ames" signage, Bandshell Park restoration and beautification, Main Street beautification, and Ames sesquicentennial events. Complete details, including a listing of current and former board members, can be found on our website.
