AMES, IOWA – The Iowa State University Athletics Department, in conjunction with INFLCR+ Local Exchange, has launched the Cyclone Exchange to provide businesses and student-athletes the opportunity to directly connect on Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities. "By launching this program, businesses with an interest in using ISU student-athletes in promotional activities now have a direct and efficient way to contact them through the Cyclone Exchange," said Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard. "It's almost like a 24/7/365 job fair, if you will, and coupled with the other tools we are providing, will allow our student-athletes to successfully engage in the NIL activities that they desire to participate in moving forward." The Cyclone Exchange is free to both student-athletes and businesses, and will assist all groups in fulfilling NIL reporting requirements. This program will also provide registered businesses, collectives and individuals with a customized portal to directly contact with ISU student-athletes and complete the transactions, up to and including payment and generation of a consolidated year-end 1099 for tax purposes. Neither Iowa State nor INFLCR are involved in NIL discussions between student-athletes and businesses. "Connecting Iowa State student-athletes to businesses they can find NIL opportunities with who already support and cheer on their institution takes stress off the athlete and brings them closer to their own fan base, which in tandem can grow their personal brand," said INFLCR Founder Jim Cavale. "It's important for INFLCR to provide the Cyclones with seamless technology that makes that connection possible and includes the payment and reporting process so everything is in one place for the school, student-athletes and third-parties." The Cyclone Exchange is now open for business at cyclones.com/exchange. Iowa State will opt in its student-athletes to start, who in turn may elect to opt out at their discretion. The unique and personalized Cy's NIL Program provides Iowa State student-athletes with the education and tools needed to build and elevate their personal brands to capitalize on NIL opportunities afforded them as Cyclones. Iowa State's three-pronged NIL plan is a comprehensive program that emphasizes personal brand management, social media strategies, financial literacy, through partnerships with INFLCR Verified, Iowa State's Ivy College of Business and the Cyclone Exchange.
