AMES, Iowa- McFarland Clinic is pleased to announce that Alexander Wickenkamp, MD joined McFarland Clinic’s General Surgery department on August 15 in Ames. Dr. Wickenkamp received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He received his Doctorate from the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City. He completed his general surgery residency at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. As a General Surgeon, Dr. Wickenkamp will provide comprehensive preoperative, operative, and postoperative care for adult and pediatric patients with diseases, conditions, or injuries that require surgery for treatment. He will offer general surgeries for the breast, endocrine, colorectal, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and hernia. Dr. Wickenkamp will provide laparoscopic and robotic surgery, and endoscopies.
