Ames, Iowa- McFarland Clinic is pleased to announce that Tricia Mittra, DO, Hesham Omar, MD, and Benjamin Perea, MD joined McFarland Clinic as Hospitalist in our Adult Medicine Department on October 1. Dr. Mittra received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Anthropology from the University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia. She earned her post-baccalaureate certificates in Pre-Health Professions and Public Health from San Francisco State University in San Francisco, California. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Omar attended medical school at Cairo University College of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt. He completed his internal medicine residency at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Perea received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of California, Davis in Davis, California. He earned his Medical Doctorate from Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, Illinois. He completed his combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and Children’s Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. As Hospitalists, Dr. Mittra, Dr. Omar, and Dr. Perea will provide services including providing medical treatment to patients in the hospital, managing and coordinating the entire inpatient stay, and working with the patient’s primary care provider and specialists as needed during their stay.
